Technically, this one wasn't my playground but I had played with one like this before when I was young. These playgrounds (this blog has a whole collection!) were built in the 70s and are nothing like the rubber padded playgrounds that are around housing estates nowadays.
While sending a friend's kids home after a good playdate, we dropped by one of it so that the kids could experience the old style playground which were rather unsafe (the reason why HDB stopped constructing them) but very fun for the kids and nostalgic for myself, although Ammi suffered a cut on her ankle probably from riding the slide. The older two had exclaimed: "Mummy, the slide is made of wall!" because it's made of cement and had rough surfaces, unlike today's plastic ones.
One treacherous hole that was only at Ally's knee high and I kept watching her fearing she will be pushed out of the hole because of some other big boys playing next to her!
I'll love to visit more and shoot while my kids play. Hubby has been very supportive, he agreed we could do this hunting and visiting for the weekends to come. I have one fond playground which I doubt it may be still there in my old neighbourhood, but that one brings the most memories because I spent many hours there with my neighbours, with a tidbit shop just 50m away.
