My ideal holiday - with the family - must include the sun, sea, water and sand, in that order. No sun, equals no tan. No sea equals no 'back to nature'. Water can replace the sea, swimming pool with a pool bar, is just as good but chlorinated water cannot beat the sea at all. Sand, hmmm... not really a fan because I am very fussy about its quality and also its inhabitants. I HATE sandflies, and as with this time, we were all attacked by sandflies and the bites were insanely itchy. Nevertheless, Berjaya Tioman never fails and we all had a good time, despite having one sick child who ran a fever through the trip. I love it too, that Berjaya Air now departs from Terminal 2. What a bonus!
Amazingly, we got back the same rooms as our last trip last July. It was so convenient, literally 10 metres to the beach or less. Can't ask for more. This time, we checked out the restaurants outside the hotel which charged a fraction of the food prices within the hotel. We ate there 3 meals in 2 days, great local food with a great view of the sea too!
The sick boy on Day 1 night. Room service for the Mummy, alternating between flipping her magazine and flipping the wet towel on his forehead. I had a good time, peace and quiet with TV and air-con, what else can I ask for? It was also a good thing that the hotel sold fever patches that came into good use!
The sick boy who played when he was well, and slept when he was warm.
Couldn't get the right shot. Not when the art director is in the picture herself, and not behind the camera. I must, must, must bring my tripod along in future. This is as best as it could get.
Just couldn't get enough of the setting sun. The one hour before the sun disappears produces the prettiest skies too.
Lastly, we were lucky that the hotel found Hubby's watch which he left in the safe. The watch took a flight back and was to be picked up at the airport. Charge was RM50. Totally worth it!
